Exhibition of photographs on canvas of the Hilandar Monastery opened at the Central Military Club

Exhibition of photographs on canvas of the Hilandar Monastery by Miodrag Misa Brankovic, "Hilandar - meeting Saint Sava" was opened today in the Atrium of the Central Military Club and presented at the Small Gallery.

Director of the Media Centre Odbrana Colonel Stevica Karapandzin, President of the Crown Council Dragomir Acovic and the author spoke about the exhibition.

Colonel Karapandzin spoke about the monastery Hilandar, his experience gained in this monastery, and the friendship with the author of the exhibition.

- Misa Brankovic is an artist and believer who has the eye and the gift to convey through the photographs what I tried to explain to you in words today, said the Director of the Media Centre Odbrana.

The author thanked all contributors, adding that "his words are expressed in the photographs" so his speech was brief.
During the speech, Acovic read a quote about Hilandar, and said that those who can should look at the canvases carefully, both with the eyes and the spirit.

- Brankovic’s photographs show no people, but that nothing is empty and deserted. His Hilandar areas are inhabited by the spirit and faith of those who were, those who are temporarily and those who are yet to be. The audience in his photographs searches for the room in Hilandar, which they have not yet entered, but will one day. Once upon a time, someone said - True joy is a serious thing. Therefore, let us rejoice. Seriously, said Djuric.

Misa Brankovic presented an icon to the Central Military Club and handed it over to Colonel Karapandzin.

The exhibition will be open until 27 January.
