The book "Extremism under the cover of religion" presented
Today, in the Atrium of the Central Military Club, Media Centre Odbrana and the Strategic Research Institute organized a presentation of the book "Extremism under the cover of religion," by Major Dr Milovan Subotic.The book was presented by Prof. Dragan Simeunovic, Prof. Dr Stanislav Stojanovic, Colonel Dr Katarina Strbac, book editor Snezana Djokic, MSc and the author.
Professor Simeunovic stressed that many similar books should have been published, but that, unfortunately, that was not the case.
- Such books are invaluable witnesses of an era and good quality textbooks for the times that are upon us - Professor Simeunovic said.
According to Professor Stojanovic, the author dealt with the phenomenon of extremism "which is taking alarming proportions and has devastating consequences for security", and Colonel Strbac stressed that the author "plunged into the depth of the problem of extremism", and recommended the book to a broader reading audience.
Major Subotic said that it was out of place for one to talk about one’s own book, and that it should speak for itself to the readers.
The book by Major Dr Milovan Subotic is a current research that indicates the place of Islamist inspired extremism in the modern Islamic world, as well as its repercussions on peace and stability in the region, especially in our immediate environment.
