Promotion of the book "Brothers in Arms"
The new edition of the Military Museum and Odbrana Media Centre, a book by Branko Bogdanovic "Brothers in Arms", will be presented in the Atrium of the Central Military Club, on 17 February 2016, starting at 13 pm, by the author and also by Colonel Stevica Karapandzin, Dr. Mile Bjelajac, Prof. Cedomir Vasic and Dr. Mirko Pekovic.
It has been a century since the Great War. During this period, countless studies, books and articles were written about this conflict. However, most papers addressed in detail all the operations of the Serbian army, its victories at Cer, Drina, Kolubara, the Salonika front, but also its suffering during the Albanian epic. The aim of this book was to present several previously neglected aspects.
The book "Brothers in Arms" was published in 2014, first in Russia, in the Russian language. Thanks to cooperation with the publisher from Moscow, and understanding of the Military Museum and Odbrana Media Centre, this is significantly extended and supplemented edition of the same book, first published in our language. At about 600 pages with hundreds of colour photos, with text that is based on archival material from several countries, the reader will obtain a full picture of Serbian troops from 1914 to 1918, but also the fact of "brotherhood-in-arms" – i.e., the fact that Belgrade in the most difficult moments of its history had allies both in the East and the West.
