Movie "Hell of the Independent Croatian State" presented



In the Conference Hall of the Central Military Club, on Thursday, 17 March 2016, a documentary film "Hell of the Independent State of Croatia" whose script is signed by the historian Veljko Djuric Misina, a historian, director of the Museum of Genocide Victims and director Dragan Cirjanic, a respected employee of the Serbian Broadcasting Corporation.
 
On the occasion of marking the 20th anniversary of the Museum of Genocide Victims and 75 years since the Second World War, this documentary was created and premiered at the end of December last year, at the Yugoslav Cinematheque, Mr Veljko Djuric said welcoming the audience.
 
He pointed out that the film was created by using the known and so far unseen archival and photodocumentary material and is composed of two parts. The first part talks about the genesis of anti-Serbian policy in the Croatian people, the role of the Roman Catholic Church, the creation and development of the Ustasha ideology, state crime of the Independent State of Croatia over the part of its population, forms and methods of crime, while the second part of the film is about the fate and documentation about saving children under 14. A special place is devoted to elaborated topics – April War in 1941 and the disintegration of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia, the proclamation of the Independent State of Croatia, the attitude towards Jews and Gypsies, collection and concentration camps.
 
Due to the great interest of the audience and experts it has been planned to translate the film into English and Russian.
