Memorial Service to Field Marshal Stepa Stepanovic held in the Central Military Club
In the chapel of the Holy King Milutin in the Central Military Club, a memorial service has been held to Field Marshal Stepa Stepanovic, exactly on the date on which he reposed 87 years ago.
The Chief Chaplain of the Serbian Armed Forces Slađan Vlajic thanked the participants for cherishing the memory of this great figure in our history and all our ancestors who have given their lives for the sake of freedom in which we live today.
In his speech, Director of the Odbrana Media Center Colonel Stevica S. Karapandzin made a reference to the figure and work of Field Marshal Stepa.
- Field Marshal Stepa is one of the biggest figures we have had in our history. What military leader he was, what a man he was and what a Christian he was, how he was fasting, and how he received Holy communion at every liturgy, points enough to his credits that 100 years after the Great War we gather together and pray for him and rest of his soul, just in this building – a former Warriors Club, "the second house" of the immortal Field Marshal. God grant it that future generations remember us in 100 years.
