Exhibition "Army in Your Camera Lens" opens
In this way, the audience will be able to see how the photograph lovers see the Armed Forces in their camera lens, and how they voted, because among them are three photos with the highest number of votes of Facebook users.
The attendees were addressed by Director of Odbrana Media Centre Colonel Stevica S. Karapandzin and the author of the exhibition, photojournalist Zoran Milovanovic, and the exhibition was opened by the Head of Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defence Navy Captain Petar Boskovic.
He pointed out that the exhibition “Army in Your Camera Lens" is one of "the most beautiful possible confirmations" of good two-way communication in social networks of the defence system.
- We started timidly and shyly, and today we have more than 200,000 followers on Facebook. It should be borne in mind that 1,500 of them sent their photos, and Zoran Milovanovic masterfully arranged those shortlisted. The competition and exhibition are the result of good two-way communication of visitors and our team in the Public Relations Department. Surely we will organize similar campaigns, but it is for some other exhibition, Navy Captain Boskovic said.
According to Colonel Karapandzin, we live in the era of digital media, instant messages, and global connectivity, and the moments of life that we show on social networks create a virtual image of each of us.
The author of the exhibition said that a photograph is created in a certain point of time, and that when that moment passes, "it makes it permanent". Milovanovic concluded that the Serbian Armed Forces has traditionally had good approach to photograph.
What is common for the authors of the submitted photos is that at one point of inspiration they saw the army in their camera lens. Lovers of photography were inspired by secretly captured moments of respite in the exercise, then the pieces of techniques, peacekeepers in the mission, flag.
The exhibition, which will last until 4th June, was organized by the Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Defence and Odbrana Media Centre.
