Exhibition “The Dialogue of Two Collections" opened



In the Grand Gallery of the Central Military Club, organised by the Ministry of Defence, Odbrana Media Centre and the Gallery of Fine Arts – gift collection of Rajko Mamuzic, an exhibition entitled "The Dialogue of Two Collections" was opened. At this exhibition, the art lovers were presented the works from the two legacy houses – the Gallery of Fine Arts – gift collection of Rajko Mamuzic and Collection of Nikola Bogdanovic, collector from Sremska Mitrovica. Defined by similar artistic endeavours, not only by visual poetics they present, the high artistic range and number of works they possess, but also by the selection of artists whose work they store, the collections attracted undivided attention of the art public.
 
The speakers about the exhibition and the presented works were Lieutenant Colonel Biljana Pasic from Odbrana Media Centre, who reminded the visitors of the rich art collection of the Central Military Club with a number of works from the second half of the 20th century, Jovanka Stolic, the author of the exhibition, Lazar Markovic, Director of the Gallery of Fine Arts – gift collection of Rajko Mamuzic and collector Nikola Bogdanovic.
 
Artists whose works are collected in the collection of Rajko Mamuzic, which now contains nearly a thousand of art pieces, had a significant role in modern Serbian and Yugoslav art. Many of them were professors of fine arts, and seven of them were even members of the SASA. Their works have been exhibited and stored in all our museums and galleries. Following the example of this collection, the Collection of Nikola Bogdanovic was created, including 250 artworks by 34 artists.
 
Harmonized by visual poetics and selection of artists they present, these collections have been displayed for the first time as a unified exhibition, which according to the author of the exhibition, Jovanka Stolic, represents a specific kind of value of the exhibition in which the visitors will be able to see more than fifty paintings and eleven sculptures presenting all programming and plastic diversity of artistic attitudes of post-war generation of painters and sculptors until 29 June.
